Jon's celluloid dreams

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal"><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">US based fashion designer Anand Jon turns actor-producer</span><br /><br />The showbiz bug appears to be biting everyone these days. The latest to join is US based fashion designer Anand Jon, who is not only making his debut as an actor in <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Princess of the Nile</span> but has also turned producer."I like exploring different avenues," says Anand, in a telephonic interview from the US. "Besides making a mark as a designer I want to do something else. So I thought, why not try acting?" Anand, who is of Indian origin, plays the second lead in the movie, and he will begin shooting next summer. <br /><br />As for his new found interest in production -- it is an attempt to branch out as a businessman. "Given that I have the necessary resources, I felt it would be nice to help others," says Anand.<br /><br />Not that Anand''s fashion career will end. "It is something I enjoy doing and my designing company has grown," he says. "Why give it all up?"<br /><br />In fact, Anand is looking forward to next year when he will get an opportunity to visit India after three years. "Part of <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Princess of the Nile</span> will be shot in India so I will be coming to India and I am really looking forward to the trip."</div> </div>
